Terms of Service

Last updated: October 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of Cartero, a Shopify application operated by Gocode Informática SpA ("Cartero", "we", "us"). By installing or using Cartero you agree to them. If you do not agree, uninstall the app.

1. The service

Cartero connects a Shopify store to the WhatsApp Business Cloud API so the merchant can send automated messages to their own customers — recovering abandoned carts and confirming orders. Cartero provides the software; the merchant provides the store, the WhatsApp Business Account and the message content.

2. Who may use Cartero

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to act for the business that owns the Shopify store. You are responsible for everything done through your account.

3. Your responsibilities as a merchant

This section is the important one. Cartero sends messages on your behalf, from your WhatsApp Business Account, to your customers. You are responsible for the legality of those messages.

You agree that:

Violating Meta's policies can get your WhatsApp Business Account restricted or banned by Meta. That decision is Meta's, not ours, and we cannot reverse it.

4. Your relationship with Meta

The WhatsApp Business Account is yours. You connect it to Cartero yourself, and you may disconnect it at any time.

Meta charges you directly for messages. Cartero adds no markup and does not resell WhatsApp messaging. You need a valid payment method configured with Meta; without one, Meta will reject your messages and Cartero will pause your automation.

Message templates must be approved by Meta before they can be sent. Approval, rejection, template quality ratings and messaging limits are all decided by Meta. We surface those decisions in the app but do not control them.

5. Plans, billing and trials

Cartero is billed through Shopify's billing system, and appears on your Shopify invoice. By approving a subscription charge in Shopify you authorise the recurring charge until you cancel.

6. Availability and message delivery

We work to keep Cartero available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, and we may change or discontinue features.

We do not guarantee that any message will be delivered. Delivery depends on Meta, on the recipient's WhatsApp account and phone, and on your account standing with Meta. We also do not guarantee any particular recovery rate, revenue or business result. Analytics figures in the app are estimates: recovered revenue is attributed to a cart completed within 72 hours of one of our messages, which is a heuristic, not proof of causation.

7. Intellectual property

Cartero, its name, software and design remain ours. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app while your subscription is active. Your store data and your message content remain yours; you grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you.

8. Suspension and termination

You may terminate at any time by uninstalling Cartero from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if you violate Meta's policies, if payment fails, or if required by law. We will give notice where practical.

On termination we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cartero is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or fees charged by Meta. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Cartero in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your use of Cartero in breach of these terms — in particular claims from your customers or from a regulator about messages sent without a lawful basis.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app and the date above will be updated. Continuing to use Cartero after a change means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Chile, and disputes are subject to the courts of Chile, without prejudice to consumer rights you may have under the law of your own country of residence.
